They are old but still seem plyable. I also inherited some Win 540 ball powder and some Unique powder. Can anyone sugest any loads that can be made up with these components that would be suitable for informal clay target shooting using curent inexpensive Federal cases?In any case, I have reduced the load to 16 grains of N64 and it works well in CF WAA case, Vitavouri Primer, Remington SP20 wad with both 3/4oz and 7/8 oz loads on Skeet. Pretty happy with that. Need some data for 80 series now.Stripers is telling you that the SP20 wad is TYPICALLY used for 1 ounce loads in Remington cases with MOST powders. Lymans is telling you that there might be a particular powder and hull combo where some of those other wads MIGHT work for 1 ounce. They are hard to find and Remington seems to be awfully proud of their product. Load is 20 gauge, 7/8 oz skeet loads at 1200 fps. Alliant 20/28 powder, Remington STS hulls, Fio 616 primers. I have to go look up my notes but I believe I'm using 15.4 gr powder.I do like to have alternatives & the SP 20 is certainly a good one. Why would I buy more wads when I already have thousands that will do the job with a slight modification? I like the WAA20F1 wad & would like a replacement that will come as close as possible. A modified WAA20 is surely closer to a WAA20F1 than a SP20, although not necessarily ....
